I'm a engineer by schooling but I actually spent most of high school thinking I was going to be a journalist until that got derailed swiftly.

I spent a lot of my early career being hyper-focused on just being an engineer, but have recently started to realize I didn't have a reliable outlet for my creative energies.  This blog is an attempt at my writing side.

This is called Maybe a Thing, because I'm not completely sure what it is at all yet.*

Yeah, you heard that right.  While there are not many, we can learn a few things from the bad guys of the world.  I'm sure you've gotten a call similar to the following recently: Hi. This is Susie calling with the vehicle service department about your car's extended warranty. It's gotten so common that it's become a joke to talk about car warranties (even though it's a real thing) and even Planet Money covered it on a recent podcast.  I was listening to that exact podcast when they pointed out that these scams really do manage to convince people to share their personal info at worst, and get a terrible deal on extending their car's warranty at best.  While I could kind of see it happening , I also was a little surprised at it's success, but maybe it's because I grew up as a child of the 90's alongside all the Nigerian Princes of the world trying to give their money away and wary of random phone calls from numbers with no caller ID.   One comment ...

If you come upon a fallen tree, did it ever stand?

 A common physics question turned philosophical goes as follows: If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound? I'm sure you've heard it before and I think the Wikipedia page does a good enough job explaining it, so that's not what I'll go into today.   But I was thinking about it recently and I thought of a follow up question: If you come upon a fallen tree, did it ever stand? As I write this, I struggle to coherently put the thoughts together, so we'll see where this post goes.  I've been thinking about a lot of concepts in my life and growth process recently, and I discovered a concept I struggle with still is consolidating my past self with my current self (and my future self, but that's making things too complicated).  One of my biggest challenges for me the past few years has been to live completely in the now: no regrets , no burdens; no letting the past hold me back from growing and learning in the now.  I notice...
